By commissioning a portrait from me, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions.
Communication- All communication between the artist and client will be on an agreed platform, such as email or social media direct messages. The client must clearly specify their requests, and must provide reference photos of high quality. The commission will only begin once both parties have agreed on a photo, materials & size. The artist will communicate throughout the process, with updates on its progress. The client must specify any minor tweaks they wish to make, before the art is sent to them.
Deadlines & Turnaround Time- It is the clients responsibility to make the artist aware of a deadline that a portrait may be needed for. The artist will try their best to accommodate for special dates, but cannot be certain that the portrait will arrive in time. The client must take this into account when booking a commission, and it is preferred that they contact the artist about deadlines before booking commissions. The artist will communicate with the client an estimated date for completion.
Copyright- The artist possesses all rights to the artwork. This includes the right to copy from their artwork, and the use of images of the artwork for promotional purposes (on social media, and websites etc.) The client must communicate with the artist if they wish to purchase a copy of the original. The artwork is for personal use only, and the client must not reproduce or sell the artwork without the artists permission. The client must credit the artist properly, if they wish to share their artwork online.
Payment- A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total price is required as confirmation before the artist begins the commission. The remaining balance will then be required to be paid, upon completion. Only once this is received, will the artist post the finished artwork to you. If the remaining balance is not paid within 4 weeks of completion, then the artist has the right to sell the artwork elsewhere.
Client Responses- It is the clients responsibility to respond promptly to any communication from the artist. If the client does not respond for 3 or more weeks, the artist will pause any work and also has the right to terminate the commission completely. The artist is not responsible for any missed deadlines due to lack of communication from the client, and the client will not be entitled to their deposit back once the commission has begun.
Shipping- Postage within the UK is included in my price list for my standard sizes. For larger pieces, the artist must communicate with the client to discuss shipping costs. International shipping can be provided at an extra cost, and it is the artists responsibility to communicate the cost with the client. All artworks are properly packaged and are sent via Royal Mail with tracked service.
